Rheology and Mechanical Strength of Cementitious Composite with Nano-particles

چکیده

Nano-TiO2 (NT) and nano-SiO2 (NS) were separately added in the cement paste to investigate the rheological property of fresh mixtures and mechanical strength in hardened state. The effects of different dosages and types of nano-particles on the properties of cement paste were studied. The results indicated that the rheological behavior of the fresh cement paste coincides with the Modified Bingham model. Rheological parameters of yield stress and plastic viscosity are increased with increasing content of NT and NS from 0% to 1.0%, thus leading to the decreased fluidity of the fresh cement paste. Due to the role of NT and NS in filling action, nucleation effect and accelerating cement hydration, the compressive strength of cement paste is improved. The largest increments of compressive strength are 15.6% and 7.7% for introducing NT and NS, respectively. However, the poor rheology may have negative effect on the mechanical strength of cement paste with nano-particles.
